According to Statistics Norway, non-residential buildings across the country use around 29 TWh of electricity every year. That is 29 billion kilowatt-hours. Entro believes this figure is between 20 and 30 per cent higher than it needs to be. Our view is backed by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate, Enova and Sintef. Businesses operating out of non-residential buildings overpay for energy by at least NOK 5 billion every single year – not because of high energy prices, but because the buildings have not been optimised for efficient energy usage.
